                                            LUNCH AT HARROD'S
One of the most fun places for lunch in London is the Food Court at Harrod's Department Store.

Of course to call Harrod's just a department store is like calling Tiffany's just a gift shop. Harrod's is the repository of all things super luxury for the well heeled consumer. It is worth a visit just to experience what is probably the largest repository of luxury goods available for retail sale on the planet.

Upon arrival take a few minutes and stand by the main entrance to watch the parade of Rolls Royces, Bentleys, Astin Martin and Jaguars. At any given moment there is at least a million dollars worth of automotive masterpieces stopped at the front door. And that is usually just the first 2 or 3 vehicles.

On the first floor the food court offers several different dining experiences at marble counters. You can choose from Sushi, Rotisserie, Deli or fresh seafood. Just wait for a seat to open up. Then indulge.
I chose the Rotisserie counter as it seemed to have the most action going on. I ordered a simple half rotisserie chicken with grilled vegetables, a side of potato casserole (gratin dauphinoise) and a liter of beer. The food was tasty. The prices were high as is everything in London. My tab for this fare was $56.00 including tax and tip! But it is Harrod's. And it is fun to talk to your neighbors at the counter.

Then after lunch you can stroll through the store and gaze on all those things you will buy as soon as you win the lotto! And don't forget to visit the life-size statue of the owner Mr. Al-Fahyed, on the main floor.
Cheers!
